Heather Ann Burns Heather Ann Burns is 15 years old and debuted on Broadway as ballet girl “Sharon Percy” in the original, Tony-winning cast of Billy Elliot: the Musical. She lives on Long Island with her mom, dad, two sisters and her dog, Rosey.

DANCE

Heather began studying dance at the age of three and has studied ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, modern, hip hop, break dancing, and Irish dance. She has studied with world-renowned choreographers at Broadway Dance Center, Steps on Broadway, and through her participation in The Pulse and Monsters of Hip Hop workshops.

Heather also studied Hip Hop with Lancelot Theobald, Jr., and is a member of his Hip Hop Performance Company. The company’s high-energy Hip Hop Fusion performances incorporate not only hip hop, but also modern, tap, jazz, break-dancing and ethnic dances. The sold-out benefit performances raise thousands of dollars for local charities.

Heather reached the Open Championship level of Irish Dance and competed internationally, most recently in the 2009 World Championships. In 2007, Heather and other dancers from the Petri School of Irish Dance were selected to be in Nassiri’s Love Sees No Color video promoting world peace which premiered at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival.

ACTING & SINGING

Heather’s Billy Elliot experience enabled her to be a part of some other very exciting performance opportunities with her fellow Billy Elliot cast members. These include two Broadway on Broadway productions in Times Square; two recordings of Broadway’s Carols for a Cure CDs; the Defying Inequality concert at the Gershwin Theatre; the Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids 23rd Annual Easter Bonnet Competition at the Minskoff Theatre; and Broadway in Bryant Park.

Heather’s Broadway debut has sparked a desire to pursue additional training in both acting and singing. She has studied acting with Ann Willis Ratray, Diane Hardin, and Barry Shapiro in New York City. Heather currently receives voice coaching from Sharon Pesenti on Long Island.

SPORTS

In addition to being a performer, Heather is a skilled soccer and lacrosse player and was thrilled to return to the field after her Broadway debut.
